Lights, camera, action! Deadline has launched its streaming site for the highly anticipated Contenders Film: Los Angeles, a dazzling showcase of cinematic talent. This year's event, which took place on Saturday, November 15th, at the prestigious DGA Theater, brought together the stars and creative minds behind 13 of the most talked-about films of the awards season. The event was a veritable who's who of Hollywood, attracting a stellar panel of industry titans. Among the notable attendees were Ryan Coogler, Sydney Sweeney, Joseph Kosinski, Park Chan-wook, Ethan Hawke, Elle Fanning, June Squibb, Joachim Trier, Rami Malek, Scott Cooper, Nia DaCosta, and Tessa Thompson. And that's not all – Coogler and Sweeney even dropped some exclusive news during their onstage discussions!
But that's not all. The event also honored the legendary Guillermo del Toro with Deadline’s inaugural Contenders Hall of Fame Award. Furthermore, the spotlight shone on two exciting new Oscar categories with dedicated panels featuring stunt coordinators and casting directors, offering unique insights into their respective crafts.
